3. What do I need to have a WiMAX connection?
You will need your computer to have an Ethernet card and a wireless device called CPE (Customer Premise Equipment). Startel provides CPE equipment with a monthly fee.
4. Do I need a telephone line to be able to have WiMAX services?
No. WiMAX is a wireless technology, so you don't need a telephone line to have Internet access or to have voice services. All you need is a CPE (Customer Premise Equipment).
5. What is the CPE cost?
Startel can rent a CPE with a monthly cost of 20.00$USD (equivalent to KZ 1,920.00/96.00 exchange tax) to turn your Internet access easy.
6. Is WiMAX safe?
Yes. WiMAX Technology incorporates on a much better and flexible way the security support rather than WiFi standard. All user traffic is encrypted before being sent through network.
7. How do I connect my computer to WiMAX Service?
You will need to connect your computer to a CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) using Ethernet cable.
8. How should I proceed if there is any damage on my CPE or if this equipment does not work properly?
On this situation please call us to our Client support by dialing 227 227 227 explaining the problem. If we are able to identify the problem on your CPE, it will be replaced.
